I am a Kurdish-Syrian-Swedish human rights defender with a Master's degree in International Human Rights Law from Lund University. In 2000, I founded the first Syrian organisation for the rights of people with disabilities named the Cultural Forum for Persons with Special Needs. I am also the founder of the International Platform for the Protection of Persons with Disabilities in Situations of Armed Conflicts and for Inclusive Reconstruction and Recovery. I have been strongly advocating for human rights all my life and am particularly interested in questions regarding language and justice.
I am based in Sweden and I speak Arabic, English, Kurmanji (Kurdish), Spanish, and Swedish. I conduct lectures, workshops and research in the areas of human rights, democracy and inclusive societal structures, both locally and internationally.
